Giving Artfully Kids online curriculum

Sitinee Sheffert

Sitinee is the founder of Giving Artfully and Giving Artfully Kids.  She graduated with a Masters in Public Policy and Masters in Health Services and Administration from the University of Minnesota.  Prior to her graduate studies, she received her BS in Neuroscience and played collegiate tennis all four years at the University of Minnesota.

She has worked in various health care settings, starting as a research analyst for an entrepreneurial team within UnitedHealthcare to a project manager at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

It was not until having children did she find her “crafty” side.  Taking her first sewing and knitting lessons in 2008, she eventually launched her own online customized children clothing store, 4Charlie Designs in 2012.  However, she felt that she could do more with her love for crafts and wanted to find a way to give back.  So, after browsing the web for charities that needed handcrafted items, she become frustrated with the process, which led to the beginnings of Giving Artfully, a website to connect crafters with volunteer opportunities, and then build a curriculum and after-school program, Giving Artfully Kids (www.givingartfullykids.com) that teaches children about kindness and philanthropy.
